Start with a name
Curfew works out from the name whether you mean a person, an organization or a shared mailbox, and asks when the name can't tell it. Company, email, phone and relationship are chips you fill in when you know them.

Keep the thread, not the folder
Notes and correspondence sit on the record, newest first. Each one has its own address – copy it on an email and the thread files itself against the right person or organization.

Merge the duplicates
Two records for one party become one, from the record itself: facts fill the keeper's blanks, everything pointing at the other one repoints, and the loser is archived with a pointer rather than deleted.

Start with a name. Curfew works out from it whether you mean a person or an organization, and when the name can't say, it asks rather than guessing. Relationships and details get added when they become relevant.

An organization doesn't need a second record because its relationship with you changed, or because it has more than one.

A duplicate isn't just messy. It means Bills pays one record while Deals sells to the other, and neither app's numbers are right. The cheapest time to catch it is before the second copy exists.

Common questions
Is this a CRM?
No. Deals is the pipeline: stages, amounts, close dates. Contacts is the record underneath it – the same one Projects, Invoicing and Bills use.
Do we have to buy it separately?
Not if you have Deals or Books. Contacts is included with both, for everyone who has either, at no extra charge. It can also be requested on its own.
How does duplicate detection work?
As you type, records you can see with the same email address or a similar name appear under the box, and one click opens the existing one instead of creating a second. When a person's email domain belongs to exactly one organization you can see, Curfew suggests it. It never links or merges anything on its own.
Can I hide sensitive information from most of my team?
An admin decides who can add clients, who can add vendors and who can see vendors at all. Someone who can't see vendors doesn't see vendor-only organizations, or the vendor label on a client they can see. Compensation stays in Staff and amounts stay in the finance apps, each behind its own access.
Can I bring in the records I already have?
For organizations, yes. Mappings pulls customers and vendors from a connected system such as QuickBooks, and a person confirms each match before anything links – two companies are never joined on a name alone.
A shared inbox is not a person.
It is still who you write to. accounts.payable@ is a first-class record here rather than an invented human, so an invoice addressed to it is addressed to something real.
What about candidates and employees?
They are not contacts. People move between roles over time – a candidate becomes an employee becomes an alumnus – so candidates live in Hiring and employees in Staff, and a contact stays someone you do business with.
Contacts is one app in Curfew Suite.
Use it on its own for as long as you like. If you ever add another, it shares the same login, the same bill and the same data underneath.
